Dear Friends,

Thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter. Having been a resident of Ward 4 of Oakville for 15 years, I made the decision to run for town council with careful consideration as to what my vision was for the town.

My husband Jawad and I have raised our children here. From healthcare to education, shopping to banking, all aspects of our day to day lives are embedded here. Oakville is a great town, but it can be the best in Ontario.
Over the years I have noticed some things that I want to improve upon. Town council is for the Town’s people. Yet I don’t feel that the resident’s concerns and input are coming through. There can be 2 main reasons for this. Either the constituents don’t know how to get their ideas and concerns heard at Townhall, or that their input is not being given enough weight at the meetings.

This is where I want to come in. I have over the years build strong relationships and ties in the community.  I have also singlehandedly initiated many projects to fundraise for different organizations. For example, I saw a need for a spring festival in Oakville, there are similar festivals held in Mississauga, Milton, and Brampton several times so I always wondered why it was missing in our Town. It creates a great festive day out for families, promotes small businesses, celebrates colourful cultural traditions and so much more. I took it upon myself to establish this free entry event for the last 3 years event which had entertained over 4000 guests, hosted many dignitaries and grows bigger every year.

I did this because I strongly believe that until a person takes the initiative on their own, creates a grassroots movement themselves, the ideas just get left in the dust. Pick an idea, run with it, and follow through. That’s what I bring to the table. A hardworking, community orientated individual who is a go-getter. I want to hear what you have to say, and I want to take it to the council and develop it into an executable plan that makes sense for everyone.

So, on October 22nd 2018 come out and make a difference, Vote Muneezah Jawad and have YOUR CANDIDATE be YOUR VOICE in YOUR TOWN!
